Notice the 4"x4" Machinest 90 degree Angle Plate that everyone should have

on their workbench - I have only one as I am a bit of a tight wad.

Notice marble weights (from trophies) I dug up in my backyard!
Yellow weights are from a fabric store - for working with fabrics but I do not recommend them as they seem to leak a bit of sand.

This is the first of a series of banta's fronts-only kits. Its interior box is made of plywood. I plan to paint my model white for two reasons. First, white is a very popular building color so it will be true to the prototype. I just completed a bantaworks front and painted it green so I need to stay away from colored buildings. Second reason is I don't want my finished model to look like the photo on the kit box - don't want the building to be too recognizable to visitors. Hopefully a different sign will get me some way along in that direction. As Tony Koester recently wrote, we don't want visitors commenting "nice Union Bank Building".

Oh, $64.00 for a front only - ouch! My frugality is on display in this posting. In fairness to banta modelworks, as the proprietor explained, these laser kits just don't pop out of the laser printer. Laser printing is a time consuming process with each kit taking quite a bit of time to be produced by the laser cutter.

I have been quite happy with Weldwood Multi-purpose Spray Adhesive (Indoor/Outdoor) to adhere the photo of liquor bottles to foam core to form a cool interior. Weldwood adhesive does not seem to clog the nozzle as other brands do.

I intend on removing the sidewalk as I already have one in place on my O scale town of Waipahu.
