This is the second of the Osprey Masterclass series I am reviewing. Don't expect to see any model railroad in these page. But if you want inspiration and techniques, this is a good place to look.

Windrow's ten chapters are:
Materials, tools and tips
A First World War trench
A mott-and-bailey castle
Fall in the forest
Techniques
A walled garden
A Second World War street
Sources
An index follows.

If I were tight on funds and a model railroader, I would put this book at the bottom of my list to acquire. On the other hand, you will find some neat techniques and materials here not found in other scenery how-to books.
