Project
I have seen it a million times in the modeling mags but had never done it myself.
Step 1 Found a checked floor image on the internet, downloaded it and then printed it to what seemed to be about O Scale
Step 2 Cut the image out with scissors - approximately just to make it manageable
Step 3 Used pencil, steel rule and hobby knife to cut the flooring material (paper)
Step 4 Measured the O scale laser-cut wooden floor
Step 5 Cut the checkered paper to size
Step 6 Poured Liquitex® Gloss Medium & Varnish into an artist's palette (a package of six of these six-well palettes are good to have around the workbench and they are less than two dollars)
Step 7 Applied Liquitex® Gloss Medium & Varnish as a glue using an old paint brush to the entire wooden floor (I could have used some other glue but this was what was at hand)
Step 8 Used tweezers to install the paper tile
Step 9 Measured the remainder of my wooden floor not covered with checkerboard
Step 10 Cut the remainder to size using ruler, pencil and X-Acto Knife
Step 11 Again, used tweezer to install
Step 12 - Used rubber end of X-Acto Knife to burnish the floor "tile"
I had previously painted both the walls and floor with Apple Barrel acrylic paint
