Visit - Scenery that Exceeds the Boundaries Set by the Fascia is Not My Cup of Tea

Visit

Scenery that exceeds the bounds of a fascia is not unheard of; indeed, many observers may find this approach to be quite creative. My own reaction is to prefer that modelers do not employ that technique. In my mind, the fascia serves to denote that the modeler is taking a slice of reality with his model and the fascia denotes where that slice ends. When scenery exceeds that boundary, confusion ensues. I have a similar opposition to seeing a framed two-dimensional work of art hanging in an artist's studio where the art exceeds the paper framing of the art itself. But to each his own - if the reader finds this appealing, go for it.

Travers Stavac comments that this approach could preclude car card boxes and a horizontal surface for organizing those car cards.

Does anyone know the name and or builder of this layout?
