Here we see how lettering on a model railroad fascia can assist visitors or operators in two ways. First, the lettering in the center of this photograph identifies the location we are seeing. By thus identifying the location, we better engage the visitor. Second, we are given guidance about the direction by way of compass. Again, directions help a visitor understand just what he is seeing. Of course, directions assist operators in a big way.

This lettering - which appears to be grey or perhaps silver - imparts a muted look to this presentation.
