Helpful Hint
Phil Parker's Didsbury Green is a notable exhibition layout for how it treats a control panel with five switches on the right side of its facade. An electrical control panel is nestled into the rear of a truncated modeled structure; just nifty. The structure appears to be scratch built with a sloped roof. Now I would have preferred two changes: 1. painting the control panel to match the fascia and 2. having the panel set plumb with no slant. The layout builder thought otherwise preferring a slanted surface for ease of use and perhaps a white color for ease of construction (that was the color of the material he used?) or perhaps for greater visibility? I bet many modelers could incorporate such a feature on their layouts.
As an aside, I also like the color combination of valance and its lettering - very readable and pleasing to the eyes.
