For those not familiar with him, Christopher Payne, a Brit, is one of the deans of exhibition model railroads. Paradise Mining Company is a well-known exhibition layout. Christopher Payne built his cameo layout on 16.5 mm track gauge at 1:25 scale. Notice how well lit this layout is and how it adds to the enjoyment of visitors. There are photos on the internet that show that he eventually painted the surround, fascia, and valance in black.
