A World of Dioramas Vol. 2
Per Olav Lund
128 pages
Canfora

Quite an international effort - author is Norwegian, publisher is Swedish, and the printer is in Estonia. A superb book, second in a series, that I would recommend to all diorama builders as well as model railroaders. Needless to say, Lund's book is profusely illustrated - all in color. Many construction techniques are shared. Canfora's book is an inspiration to all modelers. Admittedly, large scale modelers may get more out of this book than say an N scale modeler would.

I particularly liked the techniques employed to display the dioramas - I speak of the bases. I must admit I was quite pleased with myself when I was able to identify a tree stump casting that the author was unable to do himself. The unidentified casting is by Armand P. Bayardi.

My one gripe is that I would like to learn a bit more about the author. Does he build any of these models on commission? Is Lund a full-time modeler? Does he just build what he likes and then his fame brings buyers?

For those curious, I reviewed Vol. 1 on another blog posting of mine. Lund's first volume was equally as captivating.
