Visit

We visited this Concord Museum diorama located in Concord Massachusetts. As do most premier dioramas, this exquisite one - a gift of Raymond Emerson and constructed in 1930 by Samuel Guernsey and Theodore Pitman of Cambridge, Massachusetts - effectively employs a curved backdrop.

Our museum visit complimented our 2021 visit to the actual North Bridge site. Note that on this diorama depicting the North Bridge skirmish that the wooden bridge narrows from front to back to create an illusion that the bridge is longer than it is modeled - a technique called "forced perspective".

I would encourage anyone visiting the Concord Battle Site to also visit this museum.

Located about 20 miles west of Boston, Concord Museum is at:
