Helpful Hint
Trays for our model building projects may seem obvious but give it another thought and you will see they have multiple uses.
First, our tray keeps smaller parts from getting lost (if we are using laser-cut kit, we must often take a part to paint it separately chances of loosing it increase). Also the tray can keep in one place the details that you might have purchased separately for your kit or scratch building project.
Second, trays allow us to set aside one project while working on another. This happens frequently as we grow bored with a project or when we have run out of needed supplies to keep the project going.
Third, trays allow us to take our project off our workbench/desk so we can give our desk a good cleaning in the middle or a project rather than waiting until its end - or never, as some folks experience.
Fourth, our tray allows us to remove the project from the workbench so that we can lay down some paper/cardboard and have room to brush paint some parts of our project.
I bought these trays at my local The Container Store but you can probably find trays at a lower price elsewhere. Candidly, my trays have three things going for them - great colors, sturdy, and stackable.
Oh, and don't forget to label your trays for easy access. Buying trays in varied colors may also prove helpful.
