Vehicle Review

As these were all I had on hand, I used the tip of these to apply glue to the hole for inserting the hood ornament

Perhaps the favorite automobile on my Fn3 Oahu Sugar Company. Since I model WWII, 1939 works fine for me. Recall, that in the United States production of vehicles for civilian use halted during WWII. I noticed the hood ornament has not yet been affixed. Also note this model has been treated to a coat of Dullcote for realism. Yes, autos were often shiny but in the modeled world what we are seeing can be from a distance of 150 scale feet or more and hence no shine is visible through the atmosphere that in the real world would have this effect.

Several things to note. This model is made in England. Enclosed in a tiny hood ornament in a plastic bag - take care not to throw the bag away not realizing its contents. Also note the warning not to use super glue to attach the ornament. Modelers are advised to use a white glue which is what I did. It was quite time consuming to attach same - I used a tweezer. Notice the scale 1:43 is not O scale (1:48) which means the model will be slightly over-size for an O scale layout. It seems most O scale modelers have accepted this discrepancy in order to have such beautiful models on their layouts.

The 1939 Nash is a pricey addition to any layout - $ 142.20 on the www.brooklinmodels.com web site. Their web site in early 2020 describes the model as out of stock but surely there are other sources for this model.
