Fiskars Original Craft Rotary Paper Trimmer (12")

Many of us are tool junkies; if that is the case with you, here is another fix. I recently visited Fiskars' web site and must share a bit of bad news, this tool is listing for $ 97.49.  Most of the construction is of plastic though metal is utilized where it counts. The saving grace of this is that Fiskars Original Craft Rotary Paper Trimmer does come in handy around the home for helping children with class projects and for other uses.

Another bit of good news is that you can probably find this at your local big box arts and crafts store or perhaps at an art supply store in your area. I have had mine for decades and it still seems to be sharp. Note that in the lower right hand side of the photo is a space for extra blades. Over the course of ownership, the clear plastic cap has broken off and is no long lost.

If you have occasion to cut paper for signs on your structures this Fiskars tool works much better that a pair of scissors. Now true be told, we usually don't cut that many signs for our structures; however, I often try several iterations of a sign to see how it appears. So one final sign could require cutting a half dozen signs before we get the size we think is just right. Of course, an X-Acto knife can also serve this purpose but the Fiskars tool makes squaring corners much easier.
